Based on the book by Piper Kerman and adapted by Jenji Kohan (Weeds), the series will follow Piper (Taylor Schilling), a resident of Brooklyn whose relationship with Alex (Laura Prepon), one drug dealer in college, resulting in his arrest and detention in a federal penitentiary.
